This workshop explores the responsible integration of generative AI technologies in higher education. As AI tools increasingly shape educational practices, ensuring their ethical use is essential. Participants will examine key challenges such as academic integrity, authorship, and the impact of AI on student learning. Through interactive discussions and case studies, this session will explore strategies for upholding educational values while leveraging AI’s potential. By doing so, we aim to promote a balanced approach that maximizes AI’s benefits while minimizing risks to academic integrity and fairness. This approach involves identifying viable methods for integrating AI tools in ways that encourage originality, critical thinking, and equitable access to knowledge, as well as examining strategies to mitigate potential harms such as bias in AI outputs, over-reliance on automated systems, and challenges in assessing authentic student work.
