By Dr. K.M. Ku, Associate Librarian, HKU Libraries

  • 14 April 2025 (Monday), 12:30 P.M. – 2:00 P.M.
  • Multi-purpose Area (MPA), 2/F, Main Library, The University of Hong Kong
  • Prerequisites: This workshop requires basic Python programming proficiency and foundational AI knowledge. While suitable for beginners with programming experience, participants should be comfortable with Python syntax and basic programming concepts.

Abstract

In this workshop, we will explore the world of Agentic AI, predicted by many as the hallmark of 2025 and a crucial step towards achieving Artificial General Intelligence (AGI). This workshop will guide you in understanding what Agentic AI is, its underlying theory, and how it works. We will guide you in building an Agentic chatbot using LangGraph . You will receive Python code that’s fully executable on Google CoLab, allowing you to get hands-on experience with Agentic AI development. This practical approach will give you a tangible understanding of the concepts and enable you to explore the possibilities of Agentic AI.

Learning Outcomes:

After completing the session, learners will be able to

  1. Understand the fundamentals of Agentic AI and its relationship to AGI
  2. Build and deploy a chatbot using LangGraph
  3. Gain practical experience with Python implementation in Google Colab
  4. Explore various Agent frameworks for Agentic AI development

Note: Please bring a laptop to the workshop. You will need a Google account to access Google Colab, our coding platform. We recommend testing your Colab access before the workshop at colab.research.google.com .
