
Integrating AI Models with Telegram Chatbots: A Hands-On Guide Using Google Colab

Abstract
This hands-on workshop aims to guide participants through the fundamentals of creating a chatbot for messaging platforms (such as Telegram, WhatsApp, and other communication apps) and integrating AI models. While the principles and techniques learned can be applied to various messaging platforms, we will use Telegram for demonstration purposes in this workshop. This workshop welcomes participants of all skill levels who meet the essential prerequisites and are interested in exploring the intersection of AI and messaging platforms.
Learning Outcomes:
After completing the session, learners will be able to
- Understand basic chatbot setup with Telegram bot.
- Understand integration of AI models with Telegram bot.
- Experience in developing basic bots with Python and Google Colab.
- Develop simple chatbot applications with real-world functionality that can be adapted for different messaging platforms.
Required Items (Please Prepare):
Participants should bring their mobile devices (with Telegram installed) and laptops with internet access to fully engage in the practical exercises; logging in and accessing Google Colab ( https://colab.google/ ) is required.

Mr. Terry Chung, the Digital Scholarship Librarian, works closely with colleagues to provide consultation, technical support, and project management for technology-rich scholarly projects. He is responsible for identifying and deploying tools and technologies and planning and developing the Library’s digital collections and scholarship initiatives.
